Our advance tickets have now sold out -- which is super exciting!  Thanks Victoria for making our first trial of advance sales so successful! However this only accounts for half our overall capacity for the night.  We will be selling the remaining admissions at the door.  So if you're not a ticket holder, your best bet now is to show up early to avoid dsiappointment.  See you soon!

It's back! URBANITE returns for another fun & engaging evening at the Gallery, this time inspired by the satire & themes of our new contemporary exhibition: Throw Down.

On March 9th, celebrate the work of contemporary BC artists Sonny Assu, Gregory Ball, Megan Dickie, Tyler Hodgins and Alison MacTaggart on this boisterous evening.  On the docket for the night: a face-off between Champion Sound Deejays Murge and Verse, playful hits of humour from Theatre Skam, powerful punches of social commentary in the exhibition arena, and thought-provoking Curator’s Tours with Nicole Stanbridge!

URBANITE's have quickly become Victoria's favourite art party.  Presented quarterly in conjuntion with new exhibitions, URBANITE's celebrate visual art in a fun & approachable atmosphere featuring music, performance, hands-on activities, and cocktails served up by Canoe Brewpub.  It's like a one-night full immersion course in contemporary art -- with a twist.  Come mix with friends, mingle with like-minded individuals and muse on visual art & culture.

Bring your ticket with you to the event, either as a printout or on your smartphone by downloading the Eventbrite App.  Buying an advance ticket will expedite you through the line so you can get inside and start enjoying the festivities faster!

Membership benefits: if you're a Gallery Member you get a discount on URBANITE admission, not to mention tons of benefits to be enjoyed throughout the year.  To find out more about Gallery Membership, call us at 250-384-4171 x0.

*N.B. All sales final.

More notes on tickets: Tickets are also available for sale at the door.  We are pre-selling 200 tickets using online ticket sales here on Eventbrite.  The overall capacity for the event is 400.  More advance tickets may be released dependent on the popularity of this service.  Return patrons to this event may notice the 'non-member' ticket price has increased.  Unfortunately because the ticket price has not kept up with the rising cost of the event you are seeing a bigger increase in price all at once, rather than the Canada Postal Service approach of taking it a couple cents at a time.  Our goal for this event is to keep it sustainable, and we thank you for continuing to come out and throw down in support of contemporary art.
